The will of William Samuell, Sr. was filed in Henry county, Kentucky. It was signed on 7 October 1807, and recorded in August, 1808. The provisions were:

In the name of God Amen, I Wm
Samuell Senr of Henry County do make
this my last Will and Testament as follows:
First I recommend my soul to God Who
gave It. Trusting he Will deal with
me as Best suits his Compassion & mercy
as to what Estate of I am possessed of,
I dispose of it. As follows: First

Henry county Will Book "A", p. 177

First: I give three Children to my Daughter
Sarah Vaughan, late wife of Edmund
Vaughan three negroes Sarah, Judy & Jinny,
And the Increase of the females
2nd: I Give to my Daughter Elisabeth Pemberton
Wife of Henry Pemberton three negroes Lucy,
Charlotte, & Caty and the increase of the females
and at the death of the said Elisabeth Pemberton
the said three negroes and their increase to go
to her Children.
3rd: I Give to the Children of my son William
Samuell Deceased three negroes Tom, Harry &
Fanny and to the increase of Fanny.
4th: I Give to my Daughter Fanny Goodwin three
negroes Easter, Peter and Joe and the Increase of
Ester.
5th: I Give to my Daughter Agatha Bullard
three negroes Pegg, Abitha and Edmund & the increase
of the females.
6th: I Give to my son Reuben Samuell two Negroes
Nilson and Ambrose.
7th: I Give to my son John Samuell two Negroes
Moses & Peter and if my Son John Dies without
Children then said two Negroes Due to return
to my Estate.
8th: I Give to my Daughter Pheby Montjoy
three negroes Violett, Janny & Minny and their
increase and if my Daughter Pheby should

have no children lawfully Begotten then
the said negroes to Return to my Estate.
9th: I give to my son Robert Samuell two Negroes
Hannah B. and Ned and the increase of
Hannah.
10th: I Give to my Wife Francis the following
Negroes Jacob, Winney & Beth Gilbert Anica
Will and Milley. And at the death of my wife
I give to my son Reuben Samuell the above
mentioned Negro Winney & Beth to my son
John Samuell And the other negroes to wit Jacob
Quinney Gilbert Anica Will and Milley with
the land I Live On I Give to my son
Robert Samuell forever. Also all my house hold
furniture.
I Appoint my Wife Francis & my sons
Reuben and John Exors. to this my last will &
testament.
